You can register a claim under a health insurance policy as a cashless claim or a reimbursement claim. If it is a cashless claim, treatment must be in a network hospital listed with the TPA servicing your policy. Get your cashless treatment authorized as per procedure in the policy document. For reimbursement claims, the clause with reference to claims in your policy document will state the procedure and documents necessary. At the time of making the claim, inform the insurance company. Post hospitalization, documents including claim form, discharge summary, prescriptions, bills and receipts must be submitted to register the claim.
