Will my premium remain the same every year?

Premium charged under the health insurance policy remains the same for certain age groups such as 0-18, 19-30, 31-45, 46-55, 56-60 and above 60. The premium, however, increases when you move from one age group to another. Claims during the existing year attract a higher premium in the year that follows. This is called load premium and is an extra cost to cover the added risk allowed by the insurer. Currently, most insurance companies indicate that the load premium will not be effective for the first five years of the policy regardless of claim history. If no claims are filed in the first year, you receive a bonus in the form of a premium discount or an increase in the sum insured.
