Are health insurance policies portable?

Health insurance plans are portable. To exercise portability from one plan to another or one insurer to another, you must apply 45 days before the policy is due for renewal to ensure continuity of your policy benefits and renewal credits for pre-existing illnesses. This is restricted to the sum insured and bonus under the old policy.
